Change is Natural.

There is just something about the autumn colors that touches the soul. It’s nature having the courage and grace to accept change! We could all learn from that. Change is natural.

We have lunatics screaming that everything is perfect—just because they’re afraid of change. People keep jobs they hate—just because they are afraid of change. People stay in abusive or unhappy relationships—just because they’re afraid of change.

What’s our f*cking problem? Seriously. We’re natural beings, and should embrace and celebrate change. If we always stayed the same and thought the same would we have the technology we have? Would we have all the advancements in medicine? Cars? Even houses? We’re not living in trees and scavenging the bones that hyenas leave behind. Our ancestors did—no matter what your Sunday school teacher says.

Just stop it already. Life goes on, and it will leave you behind. And if you like stagnation so much, have your head frozen—it’s essentially the same. Without the ability to adapt, you’re just wasting space on this crowded planet.

  1. well glenn, as you know i can’t stand change in my personal world, so i guess i best get my head frozen! 🙂
but hell, i understand your point, and it is well-taken by me.

one thing is for certain, i share your love of the changes of colors, because in those changes is the purest of beauty.

  2. I don’t think you’re afraid of change around you, though. Otherwise, you’d never leave the house. You’d never talk to anyone, and you wouldn’t be online, either. 🙂

You don’t like for your routine to change, and that’s a bit different, especially since it doesn’t really need to change.

  3. I just made most of my coworkers watch Office Space – some for the first time – because of what you’re talking about in this post. I am on the same page with you about change being natural, you’ll be the same person you were five years ago if you didn’t change. I didn’t really like who I was five years ago, but I’d say I’ve changed.

Great philosophical post! And I love the picture – fall is an awesome season, overall. Pretty colors, clean smells, and (in Delaware) lower humidity. Lovely.
